SECURITY

Security is the most important Monument Bank faces in making Internet Banking available for its customers. Using industry standard security techniques ensures that your personal and financial information remains confidential. Monument Bank uses security technologies such as your unique user ID and password, encryption and firewalls. The combination of your User ID and password enables you to be uniquely identified within the Online banking service. It is you responsibility to keep your password secure. You will also need to use a secure browser. Certain browsers have the ability to communicate securely by encrypting the information as it passes across the Internet. This method of communication is called Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Monument Bank requires the use of a secure browser before you connect to Online Banking.

Internet Browser

To verify your session is secure, look for https: instead of http: in the URL address line, and a secure symbol (for example, closed padlock or key) on the status bar of your browser located on the lower part of the screen. For greater security when viewing your account information over the Internet, we require that you use a browser with 128-bit encryption.

To provide additional protection, a timeout feature is used on our Online Banking services. This feature automatically logs you out of your account after an extended period of time. Re-establishing and authenticating your credentials for your online session helps to reduce unauthorized access to your accounts with us.

Fraud Notification About Phishing – – Protect Your Identity

Monument Bank will never send email requesting or requiring customers to send personal information, such as account numbers, SSNs, passwords, or PINs, to us via email or unsolicited pop-up windows. If you receive such an email claiming to be affiliated with Monument Bank, DO NOT respond. Instead, report the situation to us immediately by email. For more information about "Protecting Your Identity", visit idtheft.gov or FTC web sites.
